Modig Inverted Machining Centres

MODIG inverted machining centres constitute a radical divergence from traditional machining

Modig machine tool sweden world leader in high speed machining

The innovative MODIG IM machine series guarantees end-process reliability, excellence in volumetric accuracy and, elevated machining parameters

“MODIG IM machines are incredibly rigid and extremely fast, with great precision and an optimal chip handling system."

In January 2021 MODIG Machine Tool applied for a new patent on revolutionary machine tool innovation - introducing the world’s first Inverted machine tool.

With this world’s first inverted machine tool line-up, the next generation of machining centres MODIG is transforming generic 5-axis part and component machining, to achieve the optimum in chip evacuation.

Inverted machining constitutes a radical departure from traditional machining.

Working inverted means easier chip evacuation with less consumption of coolant.

The gravity makes the chips fall with a natural flow from the work piece and the working area.

The stability, together with the excellent optimized chip handling system, yields higher performance.

THE ALL NEW, MODIG INVERTED MACHINES FEATURE:

  • Optimized chip handling.
  • Extreme fast cut-to-cut times.
  • Monolithic structures for absolute dynamic and thermal stability.
  • Equal and stable load distribution for vibration-free cutting.
  • Overall compact design with minimum floorspace.
  • A single spindle with up to 200 hp (150 kW) working from below

The MODIG inverted machining, IM design allows machines to be located side by side to optimise the footprint and enable fully load-unload automation.

The chip conveyor is placed in the back of the machines with easy access for chip handling. Loading of material and unloading of parts, take place either manually from the front or by a pallet system, or with overhead loading. In this way the machines can efficiently be used for high productivity in your production lines. Options for pallet system, robot loading, and overhead loading are available.

With optional spindles for high speed and high torque applications, exceptional access to complex part contours, MODIG inverted machines provide the most optimal functional machining process.

Introducing the MODIG IM-8 single spindle machining centre.

Inverted Single spindle range by Modig machine tool swedenIM-8 Single spindle

4 or 5-axis. Single spindle.

Trunnion table: 31 inch, 800mm.

Max part size: Height 700mm x Inference diameter 1,200 mm.

Extreme fast cut-to-cut times make the machine suitable for industries characterized by large volumes, quick lead times, and high complexity

Options for pallet system, robot loading, and overhead loading are available.

All MODIG inverted machining centres have a cast iron base around the structure, locked in all four corners, making the machine extremely rigid, enabling the tool to work with extreme precision.

REPRESENTATION UPDATE:

Due to an increase in worldwide activity MODIG have elected to appoint distributors, rather than agents, in many European markets.

On 1st January 2025 Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools Ltd (Kingsbury) were appointed as the distributor for Horizontal and Vertical machining centres in the UK and the Middle East.

M-Tech UK Ltd supports this agreement and has worked with Kingsbury to ensure a seamless transition process and will pass on any relevant enquiries in these areas.

M-Tech UK will continue to be the agent for the new range of MODIG Inverted machining centres for UK and EIRE so please contact MikeB@M-TechUK.com with any inverted machining enquiries.
